Dishwasher / Food Prep

We are looking for a Dishwasher / Food Prep team member to support our Japanese restaurant’s kitchen operations. Duties include washing and sanitizing dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment; maintaining cleanliness and organization of the dish and kitchen areas; and assisting with basic food preparation such as washing, cutting, portioning, and preparing ingredients according to restaurant standards. Responsibilities also include proper storage and handling of food and supplies, waste removal, and following all food safety, sanitation, and health procedures. Previous restaurant or kitchen experience is preferred but not required.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Wash, sanitize and store dishes and utensils to be used for service
• Clean and sanitize work areas, kitchen utensils, and equipment
• Sweep and mop floors in the kitchen and service areas
• Remove garbage as directed in a safe manner
• Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as:
• Washing, peeling, and cutting vegetables
• Portioning and labeling ingredients
• Preparing simple garnishes
• Stocking and refilling prep stations
• Assisting chefs with other basic prep needs as directed
• Must follow all safety and sanitation rules
• Possess City/State Food Handlers Card
